Didit is going paid

Why Didit Checklists for Jira Cloud is becoming a paid app

didit hub interface and mobile app

What is Didit Checklists for Jira all about?

Didit Checklists for Jira Cloud allows you to create checklists and checklist templates for a multitude of purposes, including tasks, criteria, questions, and more.

With Didit, you can build high-quality, repeatable routines and practices and enjoy numerous benefits over other Jira checklist apps (discussed more below).

Today hundreds of teams are checking off millions of tasks every month with Didit and have seen their internal processes become faster, more efficient, and less error-prone.

Why are we making Didit for Jira a paid app?

We have been investing in Didit for the past 3 years and maintaining it for thousands of users.

Now we want to kick things up a notch.

Specifically, we plan to reinvest the money we make from Didit as a paid app into adding powerful new features. These include:

  • Enabling you to produce a single PDF report on multiple checklists for tracking and auditing, using custom filters to ensure that you’re capturing the exact insights you need.

  • Adding more automation to Didit checklists. We will add new actions, e.g. checking off all tasks when a Jira issue moves to “Done”. We will also be adding triggers, e.g. creating a new issue after a checklist is completed.

  • Enhancing how our apps work with other Atlassian and non-Atlassian apps and platforms. We will also be offering an Application Programming Interface (API) to help customers connect their own software to ours.

  • Enabling you to have multiple checklists on the same Jira issue, e.g. a testing checklist and a release checklist.

You can vote for new features in the Seibert Media community or chat directly with the development team.

Why shouldn’t I move to a competitor?

Didit’s main competitor is Issue Checklist for Jira by HeroCoders, which is a paid app anyway. Okay, so there is a free version, but it only lets you create 6 checklist templates in the hope that you’ll upgrade to Pro. This means the only ones who don’t upgrade are likely to very small companies without much need for checklists.

More than that, Didit has a number of advantages over Issue Checklist that have proven super-useful for our customers:

  • Didit lets non-Jira users fill out checklists with public link sharing and QR codes. You can also make a non-Jira user a template manager. This is great if you want to allow an external contractor or customer to make and use checklists and checklist templates within their business.

  • You can add images and notes to checklist items to highlight, explain, or show what’s been done.

  • You can set up recurring checklists that aren’t tied to Jira issues instead of creating a new issue whenever you need a checklist.

  • If you’re not sure what your checklist should look like, perhaps because you’re creating a new process, then you can use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate one and save yourself time researching.

  • Trying to use Jira on your phone is not likely to be many people’s favorite experience, so we offer a mobile app for working with checklists when you’re out and about.

  • If your checklist item is a question, you can enable users to answer yes or no. You can also make the user explain if they’ve clicked “no”. For example:

    • Question: “Did you clean the floors?”

    • Answer: “No.”

    • Explanation: “I cleaned them yesterday.”

  • You can get your users to add a signature to a completed checklist and verify it as a true statement, which is good for compliance.

  • It has a better name. 😉

These are only a few of the advantages Didit offers over Issue Checklist!

When is the app going paid?

Although we don’t yet have a firm date, Didit for Jira will be going paid soon. When it happens, be assured that you will have at least 30 days' notice of any change.

What will happen if I don’t obtain a valid license?

The core functionality of your Didit for Jira app will remain available (at least for now), although we will not be able to maintain or support it. Some functionality and integrations with other products may not work, and we cannot guarantee your app will be fully secure. Talk to us to understand the limitations better.

How can I obtain a license?

Navigate to the “Manage Apps” section of your Jira instance, click on Didit, and upgrade it to the latest version. Alternatively, you could get a quote through one of our solution partners. Contact us and we’ll help you.

How much does it cost?

Here’s a breakdown of the pricing. Note that the app will stay free for up to 10 users. Monthly prices per user are shown in the table below. Annual subscriptions are cheaper overall (you get 2 months free).

Can I still trial the app for free?

Of course! If you’re new to Didit, we encourage you to try it for free for 30 days and see if it’s a good fit for your organization. And all users of the free app get those extra 30 days as well.
