Welcome to Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.2.1!

Please note that the Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.2.0 was an internal patch release.

This release of the Linchpin Intranet Suite drops the support of IE 11 & Microsoft Edge Legacy and introduces exciting new features, improvements and, of course, takes care of some bugs.

Now, let's go on with features and innovations.

We made the Microblog compatible with Actonic's GDPR (DSGVO) and Security for Confluence app. This means that, should you be using Actonic's app, a deleted user's data will be anonymized within the Microblog, too (with the exception of mentions at this time). We introduce an MS Teams integration for Linchpin Enterprise News in this release, too! You can push your news to MS Teams now! Documentation: https://seibert.biz/len-news2msteams

When it comes to Linchpin Events, we added a new filter to the event hub: You can view all the events you signed up for with just one click! Also, we optimized the integration of event notifications with MS Outlook. 

And finally, a change which brought Linchpin another step closer to accessibility: We improved the structuring of the dashboard so that screenreaders and similar tools have an easier job dealing with Linchpin.

Suite

Change

Improvements

• Clicking on a link within a ping won't open the ping again on the new site.
• We implemented some frontend performance improvements for pings.

Bugfix

• We fixed disappearing buttons in the text editor. They should all be there, now.

Linchpin Onboarding

New feature

• We added a text module to Linchpin Onboarding.

Improvements

• We implemented some frontend performance improvements for the onboarding.
• We ensured downgrade compatibility within Linchpin Onboarding. If a configured module is missing (for example due to a disabled plugin or downgrades), the onboarding won't crash but simply go on with working modules.

Linchpin Translations

Security

• We fixed a XSS vulnerability which potentially allowed Confluence administrators to send malicious code to Confluence users.

Improvement

• We introduced some frontend performance improvements to Linchpin Translations.

User Profiles

Change

• We removed the Profile Completion Assistant. Since we introduced profile field validation directly within the profile's edit mode (meaning that a profile can't be saved if a required field is not filled in), the Profile Completion Assistant has become redundant.

• We fixed issues with the LDAP sync and the sync report.
• We fixed a bug regarding the incorrect display of special characters in text input profile fields.
• Linchpin User Profiles correctly validates page size of separate LDAP instances now.
• We fixed a bug that prevented filtering within the "Custom User Search" macro to work correctly when a profile field of type "user select" was used as a filter.

Bugfixes

• We fixed a bug that prevented news teaser images to load properly for planned news.
• We fixed a bug that made the "Corporate News Feed" and "Personal News Feed" macros omit some news when the macros were set to default view and navigation via arrows.
• We fixed a bug that removed the teaser image for planned news and prevented those news from being published.
• We fixed a bug that prevented News Magazines to correctly display news without a label.
• When uploading a large teaser image for your news, the selection of a no-crop area should work more reliably now.

Events

New feature

• We added a new filter to the event hub: Now, you can view all events you signed up for with just one click.

Improvement

• Event notifications work for Outlook now just like they work for other email providers, meaning that you can accept or reject an event appointment directly within Outlook. Downloading the .ics file is no longer needed.

Bugfixes

• Entering an event date via keyboard will work correctly now. 
• Deactivated Confluence users will be displayed correctly now in the event participant list.
• Changing the username attribute within the LDAP sync won't make the names of participant disappear anymore.

Language Manager

Improvements

• We introduced some frontend performance improvements to the Language Manager.
• We introduced some backend performance improvements to the Language Manager.

Bugfixes

• We fixed a bug that prevented existing pages to be found when trying to link them.
• We fixed styling issues with the placement of the language selection button on some pages.

News Digest

Bugfix

• The "... Please log in or contact your administrator." text caused by the "Content responsibility" macro won't be displayed in the digest anymore.

Microblog

New feature

• The Microblog is compatible with Actonic's GDPR (DSGVO) and Security for Confluence app now. • We introduced some frontend performance improvements to the Microblog.

Bugfixes

• We fixed a bug which caused attachments to be displayed as a list and links to be displayed as "share.content" attachments when a link was added to a post which already had attachments added to it.
• For some time, the last editor/author was highlighted in the Microblog, instead of your own user. We fixed that and now your own user should be highlighted.
• We fixed a small optical bug and added a border to the topic selection dropdown menu in the "Microblog Timeline" macro.

Linchpin Theme

New feature

• You can sort saved pages within the sidebar in alphabetical order, too, now.

Improvements

• From now on, we use global CSS variables for styling.
• We have improved the structure of the dashboard by dividing it into meaningful sections to make Linchpin more accessible and allow screenreaders and similar tools to work better with Linchpin.
• We have slightly reduced JavaScript bundle sizes; reducing the amount of data your browser has to download.
• We support browser caching of the menu now.
• We implemented some performance improvements for space themes.

Bugfixes

• Images in "Teaser" macros update automatically when corresponding attachments get updated now.
• We fixed the positioning of the intranet title when viewing the terms of use.
• When using personalized navigation menus, the menus won't disappear when a change is made to a profile.

Terms of Use

Bugfixes

• We fixed a bug which prevented finding users in the user history if the search key equaled the username (for example: Finding a user called Admini-strator was not possible when you searched for Admini-strator).
• We fixed a bug in the close button of a pop-up window which appeared when users wanted to reject the Terms Of Use in their profile.

Launchpad

Improvement

• We updated some libraries.
• We introduced some frontend performance improvements to the Launchpad.

Bugfixes

• We fixed the sorting of apps. All apps should be sorted alphabetically by default now.
• You should be able to close the app info window using the X button now.
