Support for server apps during their end-of-life phase

On October 16, 2020, Atlassian announced the end-of-life for their server product line. This is also accompanied by changes to the support for the server products. On this page you can find out how this affects Seibert Media and you as a customer


End-of-Life: Atlassian and Confluence Server

As of February 2, 2021, Atlassian has ceased sales and development of the server product line.

Regarding the handling of app support for server apps, Atlassian states the following:

Between February 2, 2021 PT and February 2, 2022 PT, we will continue to provide support (i.e. database, browser, Java) and bug fixes for server products.

After February 2, 2022 PT, we will only provide security bug-fixes for critical vulnerabilities until the end of support date on February 2, 2024 PT. After that date, your server products will reach end of support, and we will not release any further product updates.

Unrestricted app support until February 2022

Seibert Media will continue to provide app support for server apps until February 2022.

Server customers will benefit from future Linchpin Data Center optimizations and will be eligible for full app support. However, if Atlassian differentiates more strongly between Data Center and Server apps in the future (which might influence the app deployment and release process), then we, too, would be forced to reassess our strategic decision to offer unrestricted support for server customers. From February 2022 to February 2024, only security patches may be provided.

We will contact our existing customers in due time (e.g., in February 2022) to work possible solutions for the future.


Final end for app support in February 2024

As of February 2024, Atlassian will end all app support for server apps.

We at Seibert Media will also no longer offer support for our server apps as of February 2024. We invite every customer (and everyone interested in our products) to contact us with any questions. We also recommend to switch to a Data Center or a Cloud license.
